We’re thrilled you’ve joined us! Here’s how to get started…

Here are many of the ways that you can participate in the preaching.org community. Note: preaching.org reserves the right to delete any comments, groups, or links that are deemed offensive or could be considered spam. Please try to keep discussion to themes of particular interest to the preaching and teaching of the Bible.

Become a member.

Create a free account and log in so that you can participate. Membership is not required to browse the site, but it does have its privileges, like the ability to send messages, make comments, upload links, participate in groups, and much more. Don’t forget to upload a picture of yourself “an avatar” so that we can recognize you if we ever see you preaching somewhere!

Update your status.

Under “Activity” or “Members” share your thoughts on your current sermon, a question you might have, or a great idea. This works best for specific issues or for relatively quick items.

Make a friend.

Befriend other members or invite people that you know to get involved.

Get involved in a group.

Groups are designed for deeper discussion of broader themes in preaching. Join an existing group or create a new one. The key is to participate in ways that deepen the conversation.

Consider the latest comments.

Read Kent’s comments on biblical preaching. They can be found in the commentary archive at the top of any screen. Featured pieces are found in the sidebar.

Read an article.

preaching.org regularly features significant articles written by leaders in the world of homiletics. An archive of these can be found under “Articles” at the top of any page. Featured pieces are found in the sidebar. Submit your own articles for consideration to kent@preaching.org.

Encourage somebody.

Respond to a question and take the conversation deeper. Most of all encourage somebody by replying to their comments.

Share a link.

Using the link section, share resources, organizations, and news of particular interest to preachers and teachers of the Bible.

Send a personal message to a friend.

Send a private message to another preaching.org member. This is a kind of internal email system.

Upload a picture.

Within your profile, upload pictures to your personal album. Help other members get to know you better.

Share what you find on your facebook wall or your twitter feed. “Like” items that you particularly appreciate.

Study “Integrative Preaching”.

Go to the classroom section (at the top of every page) to learn an integrative model for your preaching.

Read a book review.

Read through the list of reviews of books on preaching.

Sign up for tutoring.

Kent Anderson accepts a limited number of people for personal sermon tutoring. Details can be found at the top of the page.

Follow us on facebook or twitter.

Become a fan of the preaching.org facebook page or the preachingdotorg twitter feed. The latest tweet is always shown on the preaching.org sidebar.

Submit a piece.

Submit an article, book review, or blog comment for inclusion on the permanent site. We might not accept it, but their’s no harm trying! Send these pieces or an inquiry note to kent@nbseminary.com.
